Similar to the keyboards and stops you find on organs.

Love the image and its title! Clueless as to ID, though it does remind me as Dave says, of some sort of organ. Nice dedication, which appears to have worked!! Grin

Certainly an organ of some sort, Barbara: the little sliders above the upper keyboard are marked in feet. 8' refers to the length of a pipe required to produce the note C (two octaves below Middle C), 4' the c above, 2' is Middle C itself, etc. The 16' stop is for organ pedals. I would expect to find the reversed black & white keys on a harpsichord; harpsichords often have two keyboards but usually only 8' on one of them and 8' + 4' on the other.

I suspect the instrument here is electronic, so the stops refer to the acoustic effect rather than the presence of actual pipes! From the shininess the keys are not ebony and ivory but an artificial substance.

Yes, definitely some sort of electronic organ, I'd say Wink It's certainly unusual in having the white keys black, and vice-versa...
Nice to know how tall the bear yesterday was - I was thinking I'd be looking out for a 2 foot tall EPZer tomorrow! Grin

Don't worry about what kind of keyboard it is Barbara, it looks striking whatever it is with the shiny keys and contrasting colours. I second your sentiments with regard to Andy.

Hi Barbara, it's a Vox Continental 2. Electronic portable organ.
The basic models were the single manual Continental, and the dual manual, which was known as the Vox Continental II in England and the Vox Super Continental in Italy.
Had one myself when they first came out and it was featured on 'The house of the rising sun' I progressed later on when the money came rolling in to a Hammond B3
You can read all about the Vox here
