The Dragon Slayer

By BarbaraR
Happy St George's Day everyone Smile

Here's a remarkable 14th C wall painting in St Gregory's church, Bedale.
St George is slaying a cockerel headed dragon ( a cockatrice?)
It is thought the painting was covered over in whitewash paint during The Reformation.

Thanks folks for the nice comments and votes for my Easter cross upload.

Happy St George's to you too, although we don't seem to make much of our saints day.
