Saffron Drop Bonnets

By barrywebb
The delightful Saffron Drop Bonnet (mycena crocata) taken in the woods today after an early finish from work. They are found on fallen branches and leaf litter of Beech. They are very common here in Buckinghamshire. When the stems are broken they exude a staining red fluid. This is a twelve shot focus stack.
Thanks to all who kindly responded with nice comments and gave awards to my egg laying fly image. I was overwhelmed by the response. Sadly a fly didn't land on these ones!

Superb close-up with very good colours and interesting back lighting to highlight their stalks and crowns.

A great image, lovely colour and detail. Trying to catch up on viewing images - hence the delayed vote!
