6 Spot Burnett Moth ?

What i believe to be a 6 spot burnett moth.
I've never seen one before but i believe they are quite common.

Looks like it to me, we don't seem to get them in the North but I have seen them in Dorset and Devon. It can't count though, I make at least 10. :0)

The moth could do with being a little sharper, the main focus seems to be on the flower. Nice composition though.

Snap - I have an almost identical shot - oh well, I didn't want to upload it anyway Smile

As Ian said, they are common down here in Dorset (and I've seen quite a few on site over the past few months). I agree with your ID (doesn't make it right, we could both be wrong Smile

Thanks for the comments guys. The wind was moving the plant back and forth so i was lucky to get anything in focus.
