Lovely macro shot. The blurring of the wings have so well captured the fluttering.

Looks like a Meadow Brown to me, but you need Edward (Kit Monster) for a definative answer.
I'm not really seeing the focal point on the butterfly, rather is seems to be on the flower

Thanks. It was a struggle focusing at all, it was quite windy.

Thanks, I looked up the meadow brown and Keith is definately right.

Yep your right guys it is a Meadow Brown, however it is very easily to confuse it with A Gatekeeper, which is slightly smaller and has 2 white spots within the black circle on the wing and is slightly more colourfull! You've done well to catch this one with it's wings open as they very rarely settle with them open.
