This is an excellent shot Lee. Theres a few suggestions I have that might improve it.

First, - I would crop much of the wasted space on the right to make it an 8 X 10 format. Its juts me, but I fell it looks better tilted the opposite way, - but leaving it as is is fine.

Its needs to be a little sharper, - if you did in fact use f/1.8 this is too large, and something like f/5.6 would be better, - even 2.8. This is clear if you look at the chain on her neck, though her eyes are quite good.

Next, and again this is a peeve of mine, - Canon loves red, and tends to exaggerate red in skin tones, so I have toned this down in the mods by adding cyan and yellow with the colour balance tool. ( - 20 Cyan, - 5 yellow)

I have loaded 4 mods, but ignore mod1 as it had an incorrect colour profile so doesnt look right. The real mod1 is noted, and I have applied all the above; mod2 is a slightly softer version using both skin softening and diffuse glow; and the last mod is a duo toned mono.

Again, good work, and I hope you find this helpful.

A very nice portrait. I like the warm tones and would retain them. Could be a tad sharper, but not sure that always matters providing the eyes are sharp - which they seem to be. I'm not sure about the angle - I'm a bit old fashioned and rarely like to see cameras used other than horizontally or vertically unlerss the subject demands it. Here, a plain background would make it OK, tilted shapes and objects make me automatically tilt my head, which i don't think should happen.

Excellent. Lovely image. It would be difficult to take any other of this girl! As to if she should be facing left or right to my eye it does not make any difference. I have made a cropping mod to move her eyes to one side of the frame and make her less of an angle. (please ignore the white bits I just was considering the composition of her eyes/face) I like the angle idea but it may be just a little too much. (just my view)
Her eyes are in focus which is good, my opinion is that soft focus elsewhere in a portrait of a female ( that is aimed to look pretty) is OK or good. (ask any woman with a wrinkle!)
The colours and skin tones are spot on on my calibrated mac monitor.
