A simple goldfish bowl filled with blousy Peonies from the garden.
Taken in early evening light in my kitchen.
I wanted to create a Victorian kind of look to this,I think it's perhaps a subject they would have had painted in oils & hung on the had to go dark...well,that's my excuse Wink
I really don't think this is actually dark enough tbh,the Victorians would have gone for a very dark bg with the flowers popping from the canvas & lots of brush strokes to paint in the light on the petals...hey ho...I did my best with the natural light available through the windows.

As I was photographing these beauties, the petals kept falling I left them.

Raw files converted in Lightroom.
Textures added on adjustment layers & blended in Photoshop.

Thankyou for taking the time to look/comment.
Janet xx

Superb! Does look like a painting and the Victorians would have loved that red. Fantastic!

Hi Janet, this really is quite beautiful and, whilst it doesn't need altering I just can't resist having a go. I have tried to make the overall image darker whilst enhancing the petals to make them pop a bit more. Well at least that was the theory!
Superb work again and thanks for allowing me to play.

I love 3/4 of this Janet, just the bowl doesn't quite sit right for me, I wish I could articulate the reasons but I can't quite put my finger on it.
