Eilean Donan

By becca_cusworth
I wasnt sure how to post process this one, but in the end i thought i'd just let the image speak for its self and just add a touch of contrast Smile

i was dead lucky i think to get a break of sun on the castle on a day like that, it was pretty heavy rain the rest of it!

**The Gaelic for otter is 'Cu-Donn' some believe that this is how Eilean Donan got its name. A romantic local legend speaks of the King of Otters who made his home on this islet and was distinguished by his coat of pure silver and white. When the creature died, he was buried on the spot where the castle now stands.**

There's a view of the castle I've never seen before - people always seem to shoot it from another spot.

It looks like the shot could do with a slight ccw rotation, but that's a minor thing, really. With that sky you were indeed lucky to get nice light on the castle. Colours look great. Excellent shot, Becca!

Great composition from a very good viewpoint. The light reflection on the water works very well. Is it me or the horizon does not seem to be flat? Click!
