The first time I saw an image of this I thought it was a manipulation. I can seriously say that there is nothing like this in Texas Wink

The way you've presented it here, a giant wormhole comes to mind - I read way too much sci-fi.

Looks like it is sucking the sky in. We often stop here while out cycling and watching the water being drawn down is very hypnotic Wink

Funny you should say that. That's exactly what I thought, so I filmed it for a short period and intend to add some ambient style music to finish the video.

I really like the reductive comp. You see a lot of images from there which always contain the vista and they are lovely but I find myself looking at this one for longer; less is more in photography! Great idea to have the reflection of the sky being pulled into the drain. You get the 'infinite' feel from the sky going to the edges and without much context to the drain, you look for longer because of the inherent 'mystery' element. It's the sort of abstract that for all it's beauty speaks about man-made disasters in nature, stuff going 'down the drain' etc! Smile
