Icy Web

By Bernice010
Realised it had been a while since I put a photo up...

Took this photo back in December. It had been a really icy night and the cobweb had frozen solid. I took several photos and I think this one came out best.

This has such great potential if it wasn't for the destructive background.Maybe you should have gone out equipped with some black, green...whatever-coloured card to hold behind it and isolate it from those dreadful paving slabs. Next time!

Yes I agree with the above but was worth a try with the shot

Yes, now I look at it again you are both right - the lines between the paving draw your eyes too easily. Might look better if I tried to take them out.

Thanks for your comments.

Bernice, I rather like the fact that it is clear that this is a "real life" situation - for me the backgound helps. It's a good photographic record and a good photograph too!

Good shot but the background needs a tidy up. May take some time to do though. Could have tried a lower camera angle so you were shooting slightly up! If you had have shot at a slight upward angle you would have less distracting b/g and it would still be 'real life situation' but may have entailed you lying down - oh the sacrifices we have to make for our art!

A beautiful capture! The web looks so...'solid'! I can imagine the strands tinkling as the breeze knocks them together! Well spotted and caught.
