I like the delicate rendering of this picturesque scene. Maybe that’s why the heavy industrial equipment doesn’’t look out of place at all. Bob

Beautiful tranquil image. For me the gravel works are a bit of a distraction.

Very painterly picturesque , the machinery in the background serving to remind us that man is always waiting to ruin what nature provides - though that machinery will take on a beauty of it's own when it's rusting away and forming it's own landscape in years to come !

I did debate with myself about whether to remove the cranes but on this occasion I just felt they should stay. They are a part of the landscape and it would have been disingenuous to remove them. Although I agree it would have been even better if they were not there but the gravel pit and dockyard is part of Rowhedge’s history and heritage so kinda had to stay in the image.
