I like this, it is gritty, realistic and it reflects a certain age and maturity.

Love the reflection in the glasses. A very worthy cause.

Welcome to EPZ Bernie.

This is a very nice shot, gritty, full of character. Mono was certainly a good choice for this subject.

The framing is nice, - youve got just the right amount in the frame to focus attention on his face.

If you look at you upload, you may notice its a little soft. Assuming your original is sharp, you may have lost sharpness through the process of re sizing, so always check the re sized image and apply more sharpening as needed.

I did sharpen my mod, in addition to retrieving some shadow detail in the glasses, and in addition added a small amount of canvas to the right, just to move him further right for a better composition.

I hope you find this helpful, and constructive,

Hi Willie welcome to you as well. Thanks for your brilliant critique and mod. Your advice is really helpful and your mod just brings the image to life that little bit extra. First time I've uploaded and great comment from everybody thanks again everybody

I love the way his character shines through in this, it's a wonderful shot.
I think I prefer the slighly muted original, seems more in keeping with the character but I am a rank amateur, so please just disregard my thoughts!

Think it's all been said here, so I'll just say "Welcome to Epz. Bernie."

This is good. Like both original and mod - shows how changes can be made and several good images result. Possibly slightly in favour of mod.

Just needs a tiny bit of extra crispness, which may be a reduction issue. Mono and this type of image need extreme crispness.

Thanks Paul, for me the mod just gives it that extra bit of impact.
