My first attempt at fungi photography!

By Bevy
We have seen so many amazing images on here, and with a week off work took the opportunity to get down and dirty..........Photographing fungi of course!

I have had the most fun this last week, armed with a bin bag to lay on and my trusty wellies and camera we have been on several trips out on the hunt for fabulous fungi. The first woods we went to I saw my first ever Alice in Wonderland mushroom (ok, I know its Fly Agaric now!) and was squealing with delight!...luckily it was a pretty quiet wood so not too many witnesses!
Anyway, I did eventually find a few non chewed mushrooms and then realised I had no idea what they were, I never knew how hard they are to identify (they all look the same!) and i'm not quite at the level of spore printing yet, so over the next few days I am identifying them with my best guess and several hours pouring over an identification guide and the trusty internet, so if I make a mistake please please correct me!!

This (hopefully) is a Funeral Bell Smile

you have done well for your first attempt.

i agree its great fun searching and photographing them.

if you go on the wild about britain forums they have a fungi section where you can post images for identification, there are some knowledgeable people on there.
