A really strange one I know, weird in the extreme but then I am weird anyway, maybe you can see what I am seeing!
Bittern and support coach on her way in - just as it was getting dark - for the West Somerset Railway gala that starts this weekend.

Oh the halcyon days of steam, fabulous shot.

A great shot..
Have you tryed ii in mono yet...
I would think about a little crop off the top there not a lot going on to the right side so trim it back to see if shot becomes stronger....

I can't say that I'm "into trains" but I think that this is a brilliant shot - It's serves as an excellent historical record captured in an almost timeless setting c/w a bit of foreground (for scale) and a ton of nostalgia.

I've tried a mod.

Well done, Dave D

Great to see you upload another steam shot Bev & a super shot it is.

As it's the gala this weekend we can accept to see more to come soon I hope

well, what can I say! Many thanks folks, I thought it would go down like a lead balloon!
Thankyou too Dave and Roger for the mods, that really does give it the atmosphere in the conversion Dave, I tried that a few minutes ago and just cannot find the right buttons to balance it out (elements 4 at the mo on this machine.
The tone mapped Roger is right up my street, really shows me it has some 'oomph' in the colours even though the light was fading fast. Cheers guys, really appreciate themSmile

The colour mod has shown an already lovely image to its full potential. - gary

Just come across this one again, had forgotten all about it.
The images that I saw in the engine were so strange, a couple that volunteered at Blue Anchor station were often beside or a fraction behind me at that spot. As I was taking this I made a concious effort not to move and get in Brians shot, glanced over my shoulder and realised they would never be there again, they had both been hit by a bus in Bristol, Brian had been killed outright and Margaret was in a coma still that day (never regaining conciousness she passed a few days later). I turned back and carried on with my camera.
It was the weirdest thing to see the two of them in the side of the engine ........
