Recession hit Christmas.

Our Christmas lights were turned on last night, I missed it, but decided to have a look tonight and was suprised at the lack of them compared to other years.
The main pedestrian part of town had a canopy of lights in previous years, but this year a few strings of lights, looks like the recession is biting into this Christmas badly!
Taken through my car window to add to the oncoming gloom.........................Sad

They've had minimalist lights in my town for a few years now - I think they believe it to be more sophisticated and in keeping with the posh image they wish to project. Very very boring and they should go back to the tacky multicoloured lights and plastic Santas etc that used to be used when I was a kid.
