Just finished the conversion of my SB-600 speedlight, well just tested really. I have mounted a small box on top of the flash head, fitted a 6 pin socket to it with 6 wires going into the flash head, these have been connected to the trigger and flash circuits. Now the theory of this is that I can use the SB-600 as a normal speedlight, all I need to do it fit a dummy plug into the socket, this basically keeps the circuit in the original state, now when I want to use either my Mk1 beauty dish (as I now call it) or my up coming ring flash, I remove the dummy plug and attach what ever flash unit I want. I get full control from the SB-600, a simple but effective solution to an expensive problem.
