Two Trees

By BigCol
Another mono infrared from my recent trip to Snowdonia. I'd spotted these trees from across the lake and so while the others were exploring the near shore I wandered around to what turned out to be a ruined bothy/farmhouse and found this composition with the wall leading towards the building and trees.

I really do like this one too Smile Love the lead in line of the stone wall, and all those wonderful textures to explore. And that cloudscape at the top is very dramatic, to say the least Grin
Is there a bit of light leakage on the left hand edge? Or is that something to do with the IR process (I am, as you can tell, clueless about IR ... )

Hopefully not light leak Tanya! No, it'll be because of the position of the sun in relation to the image. It's just a little off to the left, hence brighter.

Fair enough Grin (I did say I was clueless in this department ...)

So - I take it that for IR to be successful, the sun needs to be at an angle to what you're photographing? Like a polariser? Or does it not matter where the sun is positioned, and it just needs to be bright and sunny for the best tonal range effect?
