West Kirby Boats

By BigCol
On the drive home from Skye on Saturday I stopped off at West Kirby to visit Mand and take in the sunset at the boat club. As with the rest of the week the sun wasn't really playing ball and quickly disappeared behind that bank of cloud you can see on the horizon.
Managed to get one or two shots in before the light disappeared completely though and the afterglow was quite nice too.
Thanks for looking, hope you like the image I've chosen from that shoot.

Love the viewpoint and feel that the composition would be enhanced if half of the sky were cropped off.Just a suggestion,it's obviously not my image.Superb anyway.

Thanks for the comments folks, interesting point Alan and at first I dismissed it 'cos I like it like this, but the more I look at it the more I think you might be right! I'll give it another look later.

Like your perspective here Col. Horizon looks slightly off and also a little curved, might be worth looking at the lens correction mate. Smile

Wonderful composition with the chain leading straight to the boats sitting there waiting for a man/woman with a camera to come along. I think the crop would be a good idea, I would.

Thanks for all the comments folks.
The horizon is an unfortunate consequence of the earth being round (and the lens being tilted down!). I might alter it when I make the crop, which the more I look at it and think about it makes more sense.

It was fun and I really enjoyed your company too! But the best bit was that photo shoot wasn't it SmileSmile

Thanks for introducing me to Innis & Gunns wonderful tipples as well, I've just cracked a bottle to see in the new year!

Can't exactly remember which image of yours I saw in the London Salon or PAGB Exhibition but I think it was a dancer? Excellent shot Col!

Cheers, Goggz
