"Tawny Owl"

My Partner Jacqui & I were out for a drive today and I saw this little fellow sitting in a tree.

I stopped the car and took a few shots but I wanted to get closer, so I got out of the car and walked towards it.

It just sat there so I got closer then I started to climb up the bank until I was just feet away from it.

He knew I was there and just glanced at me with half shut eyes, I got a few more shots before he flew away. It was an amazing experience to just get so close to this wild bird.

Unfortunately it was taken in very poor light so I had to manipulate the picture just a wee bit so we could get a better look.

Thanks very much for these great comments guys, I couldn't believe I got so close to it. It was an amazing experience and one I will treasure.

It's nice to see them close up but to do it in the wild makes it all the better.
