Taken late evening on a dark dreary rain sodden day at Portland Bill. I was actually there in the hope of a glorious sunset but was greeted by clouds and more clouds, fortunately the rain did stop long enough to get a few shots of the area. I used a 2 stop ND filter to slow things down. This is Pulpit Rock with a nerveless fisherman on board.
The artificial stack of rock was left in the 1870s after a natural arch was cut away by quarrymen at the Bill Quarry on the famous headland. It was intentionally left in place as a quarrying relic.
