Injury

This Dolphin is in the wild and called Wave and is one of the Dolphins that live in the Tidal River system of our city. I have posted shots of her tail walking. Both her and her son who is around 12 months old are afflicted with this skin problem, they think the cause it could be something they swam through or some chemical someone threw on them.

Poor thing - she must be in agony!! Can anything be done to help her?

Hi Karen, they are monitorinf her, but unless it gets real bad ther are reluctant to intervene because it may stress her and her baby out.

Hi Karen,
The damage so far is only to the skin and blubber, they can recover from this quite quickly, if it damages the muscle then that becomes an issue, she is moving freely and fishing so they are happy with her progress.
