Black Mount Dawn

By bill33
My sincere thanks again to everyone for your time to view and for your wonderful comments on my previous images, as always they are very much appreciated. This is another older image from Sept 2010. Another early rise to get to this amazing place before sunrise, and some low cloud creating some great shadows on the hill,I think it was worth the early start. Your comments would be much appreciated. Bill.

Although captured in September, the winter colouring seems well advanced, Bill, but I guess that is the norm up there.
Your early rise had again been rewarded with a superb landscape, composed as always so well, and with great detail and warm colours.
The cloud shadows on the Black Mount add an interesting patterning on the mountainside, and the bonus is the moon up there.
Ronnie.

Great comp and love the lighting - especially the cloud shadows on the hills in the background.

Lovely shadow play, strong diagonal composition and the hillside colours echoed in the clouds. Lovely image and well worth the early start, especially if the midge season has finished.

A wonderful landscape Bill, so rich in colour and beautifully composed.
Do you have to walk well into the glen to see this view?
I don't know all the peaks and it seems you could go to Glencoe
lots of times and never see it all.
