REALLY nice shot, sharp where it needs to be, shows the movement of the wings brilliantly, great dof. Only slightly distracting thing - but once i saw it it spoiled the photo for me- is the highlight just down from the beak, any chance of doing a modification?
Fab shot nether the less,
cheers and a click

Great shot, with just enough movement in the wing to bring the whole thing to life.

I once met a pro photographer and I asked him the best technique for photographing hummingbirds. He said I should find a suitable flower on which they feed as they follow a pattern of returning to each flowering site throughout the day. He told me to get a tripod and cable release, focus on the flower then retreat with a crate of beer and sit there and wait. Sounds good to me.
Great photo.

I appreciate the clicks and comments. Regrading the white highlight, I actually like it and think that it adds to the picture. In addition, although I wouldn't object to someone else doing it I just don't do very much manipulation of photos any more unless I am going for some type of composite or other effect that goes a bit beyond photography. If I didn't like it I would just delete it an re-shoot with a different background. Still, any feedback is appreciated.

A dream shot! Wonderful! (colours, action...even the white highlight).
I agree with your attitude towards manipulation. JNC
