Day two at Malpas.

Having had the day to scout some locations, I knew exactly where I wanted to be to properly capture the moonrise over the river.
So, with dinner out of the way I went trudging off to my chosen perch around 30 minutes or so before the time I had shot the previous day.
I set up, focussed, composed and waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And waited.....

"Ah, the moon is rising a lot later today," thought I, realising, of course, that the later it got the bigger the contrast problem.
"Right, I think this will have to be a blend!" I decided.
So I shot my location before it got too dark for what I had in mind, knowing at this point that I would have to blend the moon in later in pp.

And waited some more.....and then some more....and some more....
Until it was full dark.

"Hmm.....don't think I'm going to capture it today!"
Just as I was packing up our dear old moon peeped over the trees exactly where I expected it, only two hours too late!

Ah, well....such is life.

So, here is a sort of a fantasy composite of what I witnessed, and converted to black and white just to put the icing on the cake, so to speak.

The astute viewers will spot an impossibility here!
It is, nevertheless, and faithful depiction of a real event.

Thanks for dropping by
