Port William Panorama

By BillyGoatGruff
Hi folks

Thanks to all who dropped to visit, vote and comment on yesterday's offering. Most appreciated!

Here's a view of the same place from a different point of view - outside the pub, as it happens. Processed this evening.
Although similar to a previous upload from a few days ago, this is, in fact, a five shot panorama (in portrait format) so it's a slightly wider view than could be captured with the 10-20 in one go. As i was waiting for my supper, I thought I may as well see if it would work.
I think it did.
You may or may not agree.

Irritatingly, although I'd made a 2x1 crop of the final stitch to ensure I could upload it as a panoramic image, the gallery still wouldn't let me upload it, so it's been cropped very slightly more, so you can see it in all it's maximum-sized Cornish glory!

Anyway, enough blathering from me!
Enjoy I hope and thanks very much for having a look. Smile

There are four sunset seekers in this shot....can you spot them? Wink

Cheers

Bill

Bill, just a thought, was the version that wouldn't upload more than 650 pixels high? If so, that was the problem.

Nigel

Perhaps, Nigel, but I'm not too certain of this. The original resize is 1800 x 900 and I only chopped a tiny bit off the height, so this one is pretty close to 900 high....weird!
I confess I had forgotten about the 650 limit, although it doesn't seem to have come into play here...weird

No worries Bill. It was an easy choice for my weekly award!! Though the image is dark and moody, it has so much interesting detail, especially the waves spilling over the rocks, and the stunning evening light is simply beautiful. I certainly do not to pretend to be an expert, but this shot really inspires me and I am sure many others.

A superb sunset pano, Beautifully exposed and processed, a joy to view. think I spotted the people too. (two on the rocks left and two on the road) Right? Smile

Thanks, Fran!
Almost correct! Actually all four are a family group on the rocky ledge. Don't think there's anyone on the road unless my eyes are deceiving me!
Despite the relative emptiness apparent, it was actually pretty busy. In fact there were two people eating their dinner about three feet to my left when I shot this!

Cheers

A different take on Trebarwidth, and all the better for it!
The comp works well, and the wave action and light on the sea really set this apart.
You made a good choice on shutter speed - not to slow to loose the detail from the sea, not to fast to loose the movement from the wave hitting the rock.
