2 out of 3 ain't bad...

By dathersmith
I've tried to get this shot a few times now and it never quite all comes together. This location is about 10 minutes drive from where I live and the groynes only get covered on big tides so catching a large high tide at sunrise on a day when I can get there doesn't happen often. Tides were over 8 metres at the weekend though and high tide coincided with sunrise so I set the alarm and ventured out at 4am. I managed to capture the tide and colour but no real drama in the sky, oh well I suppose two out of three ainít bad?

Thanks for taking a look.

Really nice image - You always see great images from various location and wonder how they did it - truth is they live there they know the right time and the right conditions and are prepared to go shoot it.

Being a tourist is nice, but getting the magic shot is a local thing.

Wow, thanks everyone this has gone down far better than I expected. I think my problem is that I've thought about this shot for so long and tried and failed a few times I'll always think there is a better shot to be had. I'm happy with this but I guess I'll still keep watching the weather and the tide tables Wink
