Blue Velvet

Happy New Year, albeit belated!

Spent a pleasant hour or so tonight scrambling over the rocks at Whitsand Bay in the company of Cole who has been down in Cornwall for a few days. Amazingly I don稚 think we got in each others shots once, and both with wide angle lenses you値l know what a feet that was!

This was ISO 100 60sec f/16 at 10mm

New years resolution is to spend the lunch hours when I知 not at the gym trying to keep up with the site!

Paul

This is a blindingly good piece of work!! For me this has all the elements that a seascape should have! The colour and details are fabulous and the angles present in the composition are just perfect. A brilliant exposure with beautiful light.

Top drawer photography Paul.

No doubt people sometimes wonder why one of these shots get an EC over another. The reason I say this is there are so many fantastic landscapes of this nature that are posted and only a few get ECs. What usually clinches it for me is either the movement in the water, the texture in the rocks, the detail in the sky or some extra balancing compositional device. These are often subtle differences and hard to spot. I just get the "that's an EC" alert in my head and to some this may seem like favouritism. I assure you there's none of that in my mind.

In this shot it's a combination of the superb hard texture of the foreground rocks balanced with the softness of the milky water and then the exploding sky mirrored by the rock formation.
