I really like this and I think there's not much to say from a critique point of view (IMHO), however one thing which may help the image is a slight crop to trim away the darker less detailed areas to the left and top apart fromthat I cannot say any more. See Mod I've uploaded.

This reminds me of the red phosphorous mortar shells when I was in the army, you do not need to crop it! it is just right but! just run like F-ck! regards Leon.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Difficult to to make suggestions about this image. I like it myself as an abstract. You should keep working on the idea. You could try changing colours and add other effects, might lead you somewhere interesting

Not my cup of tea. Well enough done but I fail to see a pattern or composition in there. Would make a stock background shot. Just me. A bit old fashioned and rarely into abstracts.

I love shells, Ben, and you found one here with such interesting patterns, then made it into an abstract, which it lends itself to beautifully, and I would never have guessed that this was a shell. To be honest, there is something planetary about it, and with this in mind I have done a modification where I took an interesting area and made it into a circle, with a black background. I then slightly adjusted the brightness and sharpened.
Now, this could be any colour of your choice, so I have made it blue in my second modification. I prefer your red, though.

Thanks guys for your input on this shot, Pamela I must say love what you have done with the modification!! This is what I love about this website, you can take an idea and it spins into so many other idea's that you have never thought about. Grin
