He isn't an Award winning photographer, he's an Award winning writer.

I don't have a clue who he is, and am not particularly interested anyway. But what does interest me is this image of yours ... it's incredibly powerful. I would hazard a guess that the line across the face isn't real though?

Either way, a very arresting image.

An incredibly powerful portrait, spoilt by the line ( if its not real that is?) superb focus and processing.

A superb portrait. A face I wouldn't want coming to my door though. Not with that penetrating gaze.

Perhaps I will take a moment to explain the 'line'

Much of China's writing concerns major cities, more often than not set within a fantasy world. These fantasy cities are heavily inspired by his experiences living in London which has had a significant influence on his work.

I therefore wanted to make a reference to London in the portrait. In this respect the tattooed (photoshop) 'line' that you see on the face is the River Thames taken from the London Underground Map.

Ah, don't get me wrong I like the addition of it as it adds a twist to the portrait that's intriguing. It's just that he's got such a wonderfully strong, attractive face that it's almost not necessary. He'd be an arresting sight on his own Grin

Immediate judgemental perception of him is that of aggression ... but there's something about the eyes (even though they've been played with) that suggests something else ... almost a shyness and uncertainty.

I'm probably wrong though Grin

Perdido Street Station is my all time favourite novel.

and mine too! I discussed with China the prospect of further novels in the series and I'm afraid to say that the response is 'probably not'.
