'Gunning it'

By blackett
Niall Gunn rounds Luffield at Silverstone during the August round of the D1GB Championship. The lad from Tyneside clipped the kerbing at Brooklands with his front spoiler and it finally broke loose and is being chewed up by the car's momentum. Niall eventually realised it was a problem and ground to a halt at the pitlane entrance. The crowd cheered as he spent a couple of minutes desperately trying to drag the thing out from underneath the car. Then after comedy attempts to put it behind his seat it eventually went in the boot. I hope you like it, 1/100th sec at F10.

World All Star Drifting Competition takes place at Irwindale Speedway, California this weekend. There are 3 competitors from the D1GB taking part including D1GB 2006 Champion Phil Morrison, against a formidable line up of drifters from around the world. Good luck guys, give 'em hell!

D1GB becomes European Drift Championship next year.

Excellent action shot. The piece of debris really adds to the impending doom....
