Out of Shape

By blackett
Rinaldo Capello gets slightly out of shape on the way to the timing beacon to beat Valentino Rossi by 4.4 seconds on the seventh stage of the Monza Rally Show on Sunday. I positioned myself next to the finish line in front of the armco, behind some tape, thinking I would be fairly safe. That was, until Rinaldo got on the grass and was heading right for me, a heart stopping moment I can assure you. Luckily he gathered it up and crossed the line on the tarmac. 1/60th sec, at F11. I hope you like it. IanSmile

Well deserved click from me, what a great shot considering your near death situation, remarkable composure to take such a shot. Well done.

Fantastic motorsport shot. Kind of has a computer game feel, strangely...

Has a rich, luscious feel to it with bags of dynamic depth - which is not something you can say every day about sports images.

Thanks for your kind comments. This shot has the whole car front to back 'in focus' which is rare, so I was really pleased with it. I like using the slow speeds, even on 'head on' shots to add a bit of blurrrrr. See my previous upload for Vale. I managed to get one of my shots of Rossi signed by him so I am over the moon!
