Nice picture, next time try to position the bird so that it is looking slightly more into the frame - in this case that would mean moving your camera slightly to the left. I would also try to bring out the eye a little more, a minor tweak in Photoshop should do that. Those criticisms apart, a great shot.

Well caught! I love Coot's feet, they are blue with big flat toes. No wonder the muddy water flew!

Great capture. I agree with the advice from David. With this one, you could trim something off the RH side to improve the composition

Great detail in the feathers and captured the flying mud nicely - really well done.
I agree with comments about the framing - maybe a different crop would improve the overall composition.
Anyway, as others have said, keep up the good work, and keep enjoying photography!
