Burg Clam

By bliba
The very sight of Clam Castle awakens childhood dreams.

Singer Alanis Morissette could not believe it: "What? Someone really lives here?" Yes, of course! The Clam Castle was built in 1149 and has been inhabited by the Clam family for 18 generations. History lives here and history is written. Castle owner Carl Philip Clam has brought the family estate into the 21st century and transforms the grounds into Europe's most beautiful open-air arena in the summer.

we spent our weekend in the "CLAM LIVE LODGE", which is located below the medieval castle of Clam, in the middle of the area of the legendary CLAM LIVE concerts. The lodge is the heart of the open air area and normally serves as a backstage area for artists, bands and their crews, as a place to relax in the middle of a unique scenery.

Thanks to Covid 19, you can now book this wonderful location - the concerts in 2020 have all been cancelled and as it looks today, there will be no concerts in 2021.
But you can enjoy the peace and the wonderful nature around the castle like a star

thanks for loooking

Very cool they have turned it into a live music venue Oliver ....some of the large wineries in North America have done that too. God how I miss live music ...zoom is okay but not like the real thing ,

It brought to mind that city 30 leagues under the sea. Very well seen Ollie and would be a great book cover.

A super idea to use a puddle, to show us the castle from an unconventional viewpoint, but very successful! The potted history is also very interesting.

I as out of UAs last night. This ticks so many boxes for me, it plays tricks with brain. Reflections create an alternative reality.

You have used the shape of the puddle to frame - i.e. create - this brilliant composition What a great idea! It is also rather high-key for this technique, something else to distinguish it.
Superb.

Bill

I had never heard of Clam Castle but immediately associated it with Heinrich Clam-Martinic, briefly Austrian Prime Minister in 1916-17. I am such a know-all BlushBlushBlush

Very well framed and reflected in the puddle, and turning it upside-down works very well too 👍 It does, as Moira says, trick the brain at first look 😃
