A wonderful moment in time; the customers, the stand (how many people have hung their hats and coats there?), the perfectly caught waiter, and the essential element - the portrait looking down on a timeless tableau. The picture puts us in that place, even if we can't be there.

Love the formality of the waiters' uniforms in these Venetian cafes. Adds style without necessarily adding formality to the whole cafe.

Looks to be a good traditional cafe. A well composed and framed image, Ollie, just the right shutter speed used to record some movement in the waiter's hand - wouldn't have worked as well had he been totally static 😃👍🏻

Excellent Ollie… I just saw a show on BBC about the Vollpension Cafe in Vienna where they bring in senior citizens to showcase their baking skills and teach the younger generation how to make their old recipes. What a great concept to bring old an young together…
