Everyday life in the national restricted area.

By bliba
this is not what it looks like in Milan now... people empty streets

It's like living in limbo. The streets are empty, schools are closed, and shops are only accessible in small groups. My husband and I spend time at home reading, watching TV or playing cards. Walks are possible, but one should avoid crowded places. We live in a small town in the region of Piedmont and we are lucky that there is a lot of nature nearby, so at least you can walk your dog for a short time. My son lives in Milan and we do not know when we will see him again. My mother lives five minutes away from us. She is 87 years old and therefore belongs to the risk group. We don't visit her anymore, sometimes we phone her, sometimes we walk by and she waves at us from the window. I don't know how we can live like this for another three weeks. But we must persevere and hope that the measures will work. And that normality will return.
The border with Italy is tight.
I wish all Italians and Italian women all the best
In Austria , we're also taking initial measures... ...because the virus knows no borders.

Taken in December but it has a prophetically eerie feel. Anonymous, isolated faces...

Quite a sad picture of anonymous people with no faces, but how they are now? You view on TV the Milan and Italian problems with the virus, but it does not have the same impact as your notes do. They are very poignant and brings it home more than any TV program can. Hopefully it can only get better.

My thoughts are with you, Ollie. We are lucky, living in rural Norway, we feel on the outskirts of what is happening, but I am not naive enough to believe that we are not at risk.

Stay safe.

A fine street scene, captured in your unique style, Ollie 👍 Sad to see images of places that are usually so crowed now void of people, let's hope it all soon passes and we can all get back to normal 😟
Take care,
Trev 😀

apparently, the place i live in is right next to a hotspot in Holland. it is a matter of time and we will be in lockdown too.
I am telling myself, that once the sun breaks through the spread will become less. Spring needs to come soon....

Ollie, good photo...GrinGrinGrin
