Quote:Fun, strong image. If your software allows, I'd suggest skewing a little bit to correct vertical lines, then a crop off a bit from the top, a bit more from the right, in order to give a neater 'frame'. Even the crop on its own would give this more impact.

Yes you are right, this is straight from the camera, just wanted to post it as I liked it that much. Will work on it later and resub. Thanks for your time.

  • Bee on Purple

Quote:The flower is Verbena bonariensis. Butterflies, hoverflies and bees all adore these, so with luck you'll get lots more chances to capture visitors to them! Like the dof and the colours ,,, not to forget, the bee.

I knew some knowledgable person would tell me the flower type, as it was taken on my way home from Sheffield Station, don't know if I'll get another chance.

But thanks for the nice comments and votes guys.

Yes Truly Brilliant. Had to look a few times as a thumbnail, but what great imaginative painting, well thought out, well composed.

Great shot of "The Cheese Grater", been wanting to get round to taking shots of this, but beaten to it again. Great angle. BTW. A definite vote from me.

Yes a real sad day for our cities history.

Well photograhed, the clouds and lorry make the shot IMHO.

Yes we went Sunday, this year, usually go Saturday, but it was a lot busier than previous years IMHO.

Maybe a different angle is required, think the Novotel hotel on the right is distracting. The arch of the Winter Gardens (not a Shopping Centre ade_mcfade, I'm a proud Sheffielder so just have to correct people Smile ) should be the main focus or the fountains not both as ade_mcfade says. Maybe the night shot would be better, think like everything else we photograph, you're looking for that little difference. Just my opinion though.

Glad to be of service Robin, it's all good in the long run, the more we can inspire others is what this type of site is all about IMHO.

Great shot, I too got the mag (Today) and thought the technique needed trying, you've done a good job. Maybe if you'd used a beer bottle you may have fooled us Smile.

p.s. Please note the smiley I am joking.

  • The madonna

Great looking girl, great shot, lighting is lovely, but the frame in the top distracts, the dado rail (presume that's what it is) doesn't just my opinion though.

  • Abandoned

An outstanding image, really well done and stood out as a thumbnail. Loading the full image I thought it was a real model, make up and all, but then I read your info, and wow created in a programme, fantastic.

Images like this amaze me, I've done drawings of cyborgs but never created one on a computer, must look up the prog.

    Gets my vote.

  • British Champions 08

Yet another cracker, what else did I expect, well shot, well caught, spot on sharpness. It's just a pity IMHO that it was shot against the advertisements on that side of the rink.

But of course still gets my vote.

  • howarth

Yes a recongnisible shot, jumped out at me. Always good to see the KWVR. The way the line inclines slightly at Howarth always makes the shot look like it needs straightening, but of course it doesn't.

It looked like an OK day to say that it was New Years Day??

  • Corn Exchange, Leeds

Yes a great shot of a great iconic Leeds building. I heard they are not going to turn it into the Food Mall, but are looking at leaving it as is??

It looks better now it's cleaned up and the lights added to the roof, than it did in the early days, just love the building and I'm from Sheffield Smile

    Gets my vote as well.

We'll let you off the mispelling of Yuri Smile

Great shot, though, great framing of a great Soviet Hero.

Why have I got the Pet Shop Boys singing Go West in my brain ?????????????

    Vote from me.
