I like the backlighting and the reflections in the foil here.

The composition, the exposure, and the color depth are all very nicely handled, here, Krystal. And the structural proximity of the flowers suggests that the engagement of a "conversation" -- of a warmly animated nature -- is in progress, here. The overall presentation has a very "musical" texture to it. And I believe that the very dark, highly subdued background, was exactly the right way to "frame" the image. Very nicely -- and "tightly" -- constructed; everything in its proper place, without a hint of "crowding," or any sort of sense of claustrophobia. Beautiful shot.

Hello Dylan,
I am amused by your suggestion (because I am thinking the same) that the amaryllis are having a warm intimate conversation Wink The musical part could be the aura, since we can't really see sound. I love your beautiful comments, you should be a noted critic or a celebrated impressario. You seem to have a profound appreciation of art and literature, bringing Ansel Adams, Georgia O'Keefe, Aldous Huxley, Salvador Dali, Edward Hopper etc.. to mind in previous posts. Head and shoulders above the rest. Thanks so much, Krystal

Somehow -- in commenting on this image -- I was so swayed by the vast beauty, and visual impact of the image -- that I neglected to comment on a cosmic, intrinsic aspect of the Universal nature of the image, that only came to mind when I recalled a brief comment from Jeff Goldblum (Seth Brundle, in "The Fly"), when he commented upon "the politics of insects;" he concluded that they don't have any. But there is really no way that we can be sure about that. At least as I see it. Especially when you look at human beings.
