heralding angels

By blondspice
heralding angels ...

I thought this was a wonderful view of the angels at dusk, my favourite time of day. I like the blue tone for the night. All comments welcome.

Hello Neil, thanks for the suggestion, being told how to set things up is one thing...

I shoot life as I find it. In street shots, there is no control over the people, like here, the men are engaged in conversation, there is interaction between them, unaware of the camera, which is always a plus. There is a flow, the steps leading down to the men walking. I could have a) waited till they were out of the picture, or b) waited till someone walked into the picture, but that could have been undesirable. Light was fading fast. As it is, I like my image the way it is. Krystal

The composition, the structure, the muted colors, and the various gradations of light, the linear elements, the columns, etc., all combine to contribute perfectly to the final outcome. And -- to me -- it is the angel at the upper left of the shot that is actually the central focus of the image. That one single element -- the one seemingly "undistinguished" aspect of the overall image -- is the single thing that suffuses all other elements of the image with the "essential tone," that "draws" them together; an outcome without which, they simply could not otherwise have possessed. A single word can make all the difference, in a poem; a single note can make all the difference in a musical composition. Very nice work, Krystal.

Thank you Dylan once again for so eloquently describing what I intended to do. Yes, the angel is the main focus, not the men in the shadows. As always your support is invaluable.
Thanks everyone for all the kind remarks. I appreciate it.
