Beautiful image, Krystal. You have some very difficult contrast material to work around, here, in dealing with a combination of subjects that should not work together at all. The progression in tonal range -- from the bottom left, to the top right -- is handled perfectly. The blown highlights, at the very lower of the right side only function to enhance the quality of light gradations that gradually radiate throughout the remainder of the image. If that area had been darker, it would only have resulted in altering the entire "character" of the rest of the image. The "mechanical," fixed lines of the oval bowl perfectly offset the very gracious, and "powerful," subtly integrated and muted, curved "anarchy" of the hydrangeas. Black and white is perfect for this image, Krystal. A very "warm" image, beautifully rendered.

Thanks everyone for your positive comments and kind remarks.
Thank you Dylan for the detailed description /analysis of this work. It always inspires me to do better. I gave you a "constructive critique point" but it seems to have disappeard. I hope the moderators will agree, and give you the critic point you richly deserve. I love your descriptive language, your eloquence and your knowledge of photography to advise what works and how it works. That to me is invaluable and worth a critique point. Best wishes, Krystal
