Lovely composition and I like the pattern of the light through the vase.
I am really sorry to say it but for me a little too much detail has been lost to the shadow on the right of the flowers.
maybe a white card or reflector would have lifted the light a little in the shadows.

Thanks Dave for the constructive critique. I agree much is lost in shadow. This little snapshot was taken back in 2008 
long before I had any inclination to take artistic planned images. I just wanted to post a red rose yesterday in the "spirit of Valentines day" and this was a red rose I could find.
A little gesture if you will, with a heartfelt message.

'Happy V-day, to You,' Krystal. Lovely image rendering, and has mentioned above, there may be some maneuvers, that can be performed, to make your image better. I find that that light from the left side of the image frame, is 'a tad too harsh & bright.' Concomitantly, there is too much shadow(as has been said), on the right side of the image frame, obscuring some of the petal detail of the lovely red Roses. I would wager, that if You perform a careful curves adjustment, You could 'effectively modulate these image parameters,' and correct these problems. Give it a 'good 'ole' try for the Gipper.' I hope that my thoughts are helpful, and my aim is to make you a better photographer. Every day, I learn something 'new & helpful,' that I can apply, when a similar photo-opportunity presents itself.

Thanks Peter I appreciate your comment. I posted this photo again, with Modification option. I would love to see a Mod from you how you could correct the bright sunlight and deep shadows.
