The Highest Perch

By BlueRoom
Snow is a bit of a novelty down here in this part of Devon and it's about ten years since we've seen even this modest amount. I've been having trouble with the internet over the last week and it was eventually resolved by a resourceful engineer working on a fiddly little outside box while I tried to keep the snow off his equipment with an umbrella. Anyone who has ever tried stop snow going where it wants to with an umbrella will know what a futile task that can be. Let's hope that's it for another ten years. Smile

I expect there's a very good reason why birds always sit at the top of trees and bushes in bad weather and they always face into the wind and rain, I suppose so they don't get ruffled feathers.

Excellent winter scene Eric. If you were to leave only the bird in colour, this would make a perfect Holiday greetings card.

Cheers

It was always going to be the case that your approach to "birds-on-sticks" photography would be a little different to everyone else's.
I doff my cap. So does Alfred.

I know... I've done it all wrong and didn't even get a catchlight in the eye. Sad
Thank you for the Award Alan. It didn't look as if this was going to find many friends at all earlier today, so that is doubly pleasing.

If the news and weather forecasts were to be believed, you are under 10' of snow!

I suppose you were lucky to be in a position where most of the snow was dumped on Dartmoor and those of us in the southern parts of the county! Lovely snowy mini landscape with a very cheery and no doubt well-fed robin.
