Thanks for 'dropping by' to look at my pictures. I hope that you enjoy at least some of them. Any suggestions you might wish to make for improvement would be welcomed. I'm very much learning the ropes as far as photography goes.

  • Columbine Abstract

Beautiful colours and tight focus on the 'heart' of the flower make a very attractive picture!

  • Misty morning at a Scottish lochan

Marvellous capture of misty hills and soft reflections. I especially like the way that the dark clump of trees in roughly the centre of the frame draws the eye into the scene.

  • St Peter & St Paul Church (1)

A dark and foreboding scene. I can imagine this picture as the frontispiece of a 19th Century gothic horror novel (in a modern edition!) Bob

  • Bitter/Sweet

A picture of the unity of opposites, in my eyes, in both subject matter and black and white processing. I like it very much.

  • ISO SUNSET SERIES LAKE BOGA MAY 2020

A fine set of vibrant sunsets Ian. Version 12 is my favourite also. I like the soft even colours of the twilight and the position of the reed bed and the two pelicans in the frame. Bob

In celebration of freedom in the 'great outdoors'!

  • Flowers In A Field

I like it very much Allan. First, the composition is uncluttered and interesting in a minimalist way: the flowers and grass dominant in the foreground: the small shapes of the solitary hut and lone tree a long way up the slope; the ridge line placed high up in the frame. The picture would catch my attention even with the original sky, somewhat bland as it is. The new sky certainly adds interest and the picture as a whole benefits from Willie's modification. For me personally, swapping one sky for another is a step too far but I have no-concerns with others doing so provided that it is made clear that such manipulation has occurred. Cheers, Bob

  • Hello Allan, as i looked through your portfolio for pictures of the Isle of Wight, I was struck by the wide variety of subjects you have photographed and the inventive way you've composed, captured and processed the images. You've assembled a marvellous set of interesting and enjoyable pictures. Regards, Bob

  • Your portfolio is full of delightful landscapes, Andy. The vibrant colours and engaging composition catch my eye every time. Bob
  • A portfolio of delightful landscapes, skilfully composed and captured and processed with sensitivity for the inherent beauty of each scene.
  • I don't have a clue about macrophotography but I simply love all these brightly coloured microcosms that you have skilfully created; familiar yet alien too - that's part of their charm.
