Thanks for your comment Arne. I知 glad you like the composition. I spent a long time in worrying about the crop. The left side of the picture is a little empty but removing it places too much visual weight in the centre of the frame.
Cheers,
Bob

Thanks again Arne. The strong wind and fresh snow above spring vegetation meant that I couldn稚 place the tripod at point of view I had planned, at the left hand edge of this picture, at the but I知 pretty happy with this perspective because it shows more of that beautiful pre-dawn light in the western sky.
Regards,
Bob

Hello Walt, thanks for checking out my portfolio and commenting on this picture. The light was very special that morning and I'm pleased that you also like the composition.

Thanks also for your concern about the bush fire situation. In the area of Canberra, just enough rain has fallen to keep the drought at bay. I feel for the people further north, especially on the usually moist coastal fringe, who previously have not experienced long droughts and the terrible fires that now beset much of their countryside.

cheers,
Bob

Lovely shot, Bob, and not what we've come to expect from Australia in recent weeks. I'm very relieved to see you're largely unaffected by the dreadful bush fires, although feel very much for those who have been.
A very happy new year,
Allan

Thanks very much Allan. The local area has become very dry in the two months since the picture was taken. So far Canberra has had to contend only with thick smoke from the bush fires in the surrounding regions. Across much of the country the loss of human life, the suffering of animals and the destruction of property are terrible. As no relief from the drought is expected before April it is likely that a serious fire will occur closer to home.
I hope that you're enjoying a happy festive season. All the best for the coming year.
Cheers,
Bob
