Bridge over Canal in Manchester

By WelshKiwi
This was taken on the day that Mark Scholey took My Gang and I around Manchester.

Im sure he must have been laughing at me because my jaw kept hitting the ground with all the images I was seeing through my eyes, never mind my lens.

(We dont have canals in NZ for a start!!!)

I loved this place and Im sure that people in the UK dont appreciate whats on their doorsteps.

Even though parts of it are derelict I saw a lot of beauty and a lot of pride that had once gone into the building of this area in the industrial era.

Not too mention the money that was spent at a time when so many people were finding it hard just to survive.

I loved this day out and I hope to return for many more images. Thank you Mark.

Ive done nothing to this image, maybe I should...... What do you think???

Thanks for looking, but its comments I need, otherwise Im not going to learn.....

Ive also ticked the modificastion button if anyone feels so inclined.

I like this image,it is very simple and tranquil.
Have you thought flipping the image ?
It may or may not work, so that the curves start on the left hand side, and the bridge wall is at the right hand side.
because the eye reads left to right you might find it gives a natural stop to the image whereas the curves disappearring out of the frame leaves the brain wanting more.
but otherwise well seen!

Hello Lee, nice image but it just seemed a bit flat to me... But I'm colour mad anyway.. No I'm just mad.

I've put a mod up with just a little saturation, dodge and burn and a play in levels.

How the HELL did you guys do that....

I like them both but I love the black and white....

See the problem I cant get over is that if I do this, its not taken in the camera then is it.....

And then its not my work.... It belongs to the "Mr. Guy Who Invented Photoshop"

I really need to get over this hang up Ive got, beginning to think its an excuse now.

All I know is that Im not sure I like MY image anymore LOL. But THANKS so much for taking the time to do this for me. I will practise, I promise. Ive got Deke now..........

Nice composition Lee, those bridge arches make for some good abstract shots... and it is even better for not having me in it Smile

Looks like there's a touch of motion blur on the shot though.

Keep 'em coming Wink

you have some good repeats in patterns, nice colors and textures too.

Good pictures are taken and great pictures can be made from them, makes it no less your photograph if you managed to being out detail with the help of phgotoshop.

In the end, for me at least it boils down to "Does what I've done please me?" That is really all that matters.

You should be pleased with this indeed.
