Unforgettable

By beckas
As I continue to travel down the road of learning portrait photography, I realize that I have a passion for it. The more that I practice photography, the more passionate that I become. It seems to be a never ending cycle lately.

I have been given a unique opportunity to share a fully equipped photography studio with several other photographers. The photographer that has given me this opportunity is also taking time from his busy day to help me develop my photography skills. I couldn't be more appreciative. I feel that doors are opening and I simply need to walk though them.

I have titled this photo "Unforgettable" because the model literally took my breath away from behind the lens. I don't think that I will ever forget how beautiful she was.

She is amazing looking and its another nice portrait though I find the white corners a bit distracting. Its version 1 for me.

Good luck with the studio and fingers crossed you'll be up and away sometime soon, maybe your true vocation beckons?

Very, very nice indeed. Love the first version, although I wonder if it might have been better still without the bright white background and the fact that the material partially conceals one of her eyes.

Thanks all, and thanks very much Dave for the user award!

Regarding the background, I was learning high key lighting during this shoot.....great stuff! Perhaps I could have Photoshopped a different colour of background. I might try that, although the white background doesn't bother me.

I was just browsin through, didn't intend to stay, when I caught sight of this young lady. Whilst she is obviously attractive you have a caught a moment of rare beauty. Each of the versions are equal in my opinion.
I look forward to seeing future portraits of yours possibly including this model.

Hate to ruin a good thing but if my eyes/monitor are ok there is a bit of out of focuc on her nose and lips, the rest is pin sharpsome may be happy with this but for me for a beauty like her everything should be 100%.i would put this down to a small f number like 3.5 -5.6 at a long lens number like 70-100.for studio i never use less than f8 my nudes were done at f22 people say you should not but if it works use it.
do not take what i say as bad normally it would not matter but with her i think she deserves the best
the high key worked very well suits her theb/g is not a problem
as all way i all ways look for your pics you really do good work.
all 3 ver. are good but v1 the best
v2 and 3 would be far better in low key to bring out her features.

My preferance is V1. Fantastic! model, wonderful image well done.
A comment from another photographer is only how they would have captured it, If you have captured the image how you saw/created it then you have been sucessful.
best wishes.

Thanks again all!

Thank you Jack for the user award!

Thanks for the critique Mike. This portrait was shot at f11. Perhaps the slight softness of her nose was my photo finishing? I am not sure, but I didn't retouch her mouth because it was perfect as is.

This is a stunning portrait. For me the most important element of any portrait is the eyes and IMHO v2 edges it for that very reason. The slight softness to the nose doesn't bother me at all - the eyes have it!

there is something about the desaturated V2. I would even love to see another variant with a further 15% decrease in saturation. The model is so beautiful and your image can be used in all colour tempretures, but I feel a tint of colour with the great detail and composition will enhance the very classy look you already achieved here.
Absolutely great work.

Gorgeous shot, would like to see how it would look when cropped in a little more to get rid of all the white so that teh scarf and hair frame the model's face. But, overall thsi really is beautiful Smile
