Great shot. I have given it a little bit of a rotation in PS for a more dramatic diagonal and cropped in more tightly. (see mod) However, your version has a nice open airy feel to it.

This is a wonderfully smooth shot Steve. The lighting is very delicate and really brings out those lovely textures and shades.

Beautiful girl too - obviously a very happy one as well judging by the expression on her face.

Classy shot.

Yan

Thanks again for all the great advice BTW. Much appreciated.

A diagonal composition would be an improvement and I dislike the hot background, careless lighting IMO, or lack of control of ambient light.. the ribs are a discordant note on the rest.

Thanks for your comments!!!

The lighting is exactly how I wanted it, nikon5700ite!!
Source was natural light, Janmsa!
fairly evenish spill from two roof windows directly above subject. I wanted a high key effect on WHITE! duvet, so she was floating in a sea of whiteness (like clouds, but obviously no real duvet can look like clouds!!!) and a smoooooth natural skin tone!
One modelling light to lighten the face slightly.

although the conversion was done in ps, I prefer to do as little digital alteration as possible.
So I could have taken out the ribs in ps, but I thought, no, it's all about natural here!!

For those who are interested, all the digital manipulation here is...
-conversion to tif from raw file, "cloudy" white balance, 0 sharpening, all other settings on auto or default.
-conversion to B+W (hue method) from colour tif file.
-Slight top and tail level manipulation of the histogram to bring the contrast where I wanted it.
-Re-size for upload, and a sharpening because people tend to say "too soft" or "unfocussed" if you don't!!

cheers

Very nice glamour shot Steve with your beautiful model enveloped in a sea of white duvet which makes for a beautiful soft feel to the blend but not without good body and facial details. The balance of exposure is perfect.
