Thanks for the info on what it is Ronnie - I dashed out to take a photo of one in my garden the other day not knowing what it was Only managed to get one shot before it flew away and imagine my annoyance when I discovrd I had left my camera in monochrome mode!!! Ah well yours looks greatSmileSmile

A real beauty Ronnie, it was well worth waiting to capture this one. You have a few rare species that are only found in Scotland namely chequered skipper, northern brown argus and mountain ringlet , it may be worth consulting Uk Butterflies website next year to see if any of these are found a reasonable distance from where you live

It seems to have been a good year for butterflies Ronnie, I've certainly noticed more than usual fluttering about and these peacocks are probably our most beautifully coloured.
