leucistic red kite

By bzbee
Had the chance of a lifetime today to photograph the kites in the snow at Gigrin. I was supposed to meet friends there, but they were all stuck at home. It was tricky getting there and no direct vehicle access owing to 9 inches of snow, but it was worth the hike up the hill. Here is the famous white kite - in fact it has some pigment, so I think it is technically leucistic - must check up on that.... Brilliant day!!

Excellent shot and definitely to be viewed large for full impact. Great clarity and winter context.
