Afterburner Blast

By brian1208
One of my favourite shots from the Air Festival which may not get much attention.
It shows the immense power and heat generated when the Tornado lights up its afterburner.
At first I didn't think I had got this properly focused but if you look at the lower wing tip + rocket you can see its sharp plus a little bit of condensation trail just forming on the tip
I'll be interested to see what you make of it Smile

Certainly a different view of the aircraft Brian, it's when you take a closer look you can see that it,s really a good shot. Just a stupid factoid but I was talking to an retired pilot at last years Duxford when we were talking about the afterburner on the F15, he went on in great deatail about "afterburner" being an American term and in the UK we call it "reheat". So another bit of useless information and I stood corrected. LOL
