Fly away home

By brian1208
Patricia has a lot to answer for. I saw her excellent photo and thought - I can do insects, I'll try for a shot of a flying ladybird. Well, I found one, we negotiated the deal, she showed me her right side, then her left. The came time to fly, but no. She hopped onto my camera (to check her shots so far?) She hopped onto my hand (the bottom two shots) but she wouldn't fly.

of course, the moment I got her back onto a plant - she nips off! I'll get her next time, (but I not sure I'me speaking to you Patricia - I've got a new obsession - LOL)

Nice shot Brian, I saw one of these ladybirds yesterday but it would not stay still enough for me to get a shot of it.
Very well done, 4 shots perfect in clarity and colour.
Well done.

Thanks all - but the point is - none of them are the shot she promised me, case up & wings out!

They are a real challenge to shoot as they are so small and mobile. When I think of the camera Patricia used for her shot I think she did brilliantly.

The smoking or the riding kind? - I hope you aren't getting the hump - LOL. (Can't think of anymore "punnies").

I look forward to seeing what you come up with. You are on your own with this venture, camels are too big for me (can you imaging a macro of a camel - ugh!)

Have you seen what you have done though - a sudden battalion of ladybirds have appeared on site. You're a trend setter you - be proud! Smile (have you noticed that they are all 7 spot ladybirds as well)
